Growth in Transition

The project “Growth in Transition” (2008 – 2021) intended to trigger a dialogue among institutions and people about how we can shape the transformation process towards sustainability. It also aimed at contributing to current EU and international processes and at informing the Austrian public about them.

In 2008 the Austrian Federal Ministry of Environment started a process dealing with the question, which kind of growth is compatible with sustainable development. The Initiative “Growth in Transition” (“Wachstum im Wandel“) constantly tried to involve as many institutions and persons as possible in a dialogue, how we can frame a process of transition towards sustainability.
