Helga Weisz is co-chair of the research domain ‘Transdisciplinary Concepts & Methods’ at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in Potsdam, Germany and full professor of Industrial Ecology and Climate Change at Humboldt-University Berlin.

Her interdisciplinary research focuses on societal metabolism, i.e. the organized exchange of energy and materials between human societies and their natural environments.

Among others Helga is a member of the governing board of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Laxenburg, Austria, and of UNEP’s International Resource Panel.
